Every great wine has a story. Ours happens to begin with two people who fell in love—with each other and with Virginia wine.

Nearly twenty years ago, Tara and Dustin Miner discovered the incredible wines being crafted throughout Virginia. What started as weekend winery visits soon became something much deeper. Every bottle they shared sparked conversations, curiosity, and a dream that quietly grew alongside their love.

By the mid-2010s, that dream had taken root—quite literally. They planted their first grapevines, eager to learn everything they could about growing exceptional fruit. While Tara embraced the adventure of building a family dream, Dustin became captivated by the fascinating balance between science and artistry that defines winemaking. Every harvest was an opportunity to experiment, learn, and create something truly special.

Their journey didn't begin in a grand winery. It began with passion, patience, and countless hours spent making wine wherever they could—even in the basement. Vintage after vintage, they refined their craft, turning curiosity into confidence and a hobby into a calling

Today, Nokesville Winery is the realization of that shared dream. Every bottle represents years of dedication, late nights, muddy boots, and unforgettable harvests. It's a place built on family, friendship, and the belief that the best wines are the ones that bring people together.

From the first sip of Virginia wine to planting vines, from basement experiments to welcoming guests into the tasting room, Tara and Dustin's story is proof that the most meaningful journeys are the ones shared together.

   As the dream of Nokesville Winery continued to grow, so did our vineyards. Today, we proudly care for three unique vineyard sites across Northern Virginia, each contributing its own character to the wines we craft.

Nokesville Vineyard is where it all began. Nestled around our winery, this two-acre vineyard is home to primarily Norton and Cayuga vines, along with a small planting of Sangiovese. This vineyard represents our roots and serves as a constant reminder of where our journey started.

In Purcellville, we cultivate Petit Verdot, a grape that thrives in Virginia's climate and produces bold, expressive wines with rich color and exceptional structure. This vineyard allows us to create one of our signature red varietals.

Our Middleburg Vineyard showcases the diversity of Virginia viticulture with plantings of Albariño, Tannat, and Norton. From the bright, refreshing character of Albariño to the bold complexity of Tannat and the unmistakable Virginia heritage of Norton, this vineyard provides a beautiful balance of white and red wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

Together, these three vineyards tell the story of our growth—from a small family dream in Nokesville to a winery sourcing exceptional fruit from across Northern Virginia. Every vineyard has its own personality, but they all share the same purpose: producing wines that celebrate Virginia and the passion behind every bottle.
